Abstract

Contribution to the fungal component of the semisteppic protected area of the Timoneda d'Alfés (Segrià, Lleida, Catalonia, NE Spain). In the over mentioned area, included in the Pla d'Espais d'Interès Natural, an arid plain with shallow soils and a disperse chamephytic vegetation, and in the close neighbouring area, the authors have found and identified 34 species of fungi (8 Ascomycetes and 26 Basidiomycetes). In addition to some precedent reports (listed at the end of this paper), the present survey gives a first idea of a mycota difficult to detect but probably rich in species with an ephemeral fructification, new or rarely reported in Catalonia, such as: Hymenoscyphus tamaricis, Picoa juniperi, Terfezia claveryi, Cellypha goldbachii, Clitopilus pertenuis, Mycena atropa illata. Our own data about abundance, ecology and phenology are summarised. The diagnostic characters observed are also included, for some interesting or critical species.
