Abstract

First floristic results of the fungal biodiversity of silicicolous communities dominated by Cistus monspeliensis, including a litoral area rich in Thymelaea hirsuta and species characteristic of the Armerietum ruscinonensis. The region studied receives a medium rainfall (5 50-650 mm) but is submitted to strong desiccating winds and to frequent wild fires. Cistus is linked to interesting mycorrhizic species and also to saprotrophic species, colonizing the thick mats of dead leaves thrown during summer drought. Some of the most interesting species are: Clitocybe gyrans (Paulet: Fr. ) Gillet f. carpobroticola Bon et Vila ad int., e herbarum Romagn., C. pachyphylla (Fr. : Fr. ) Gillet, Cortinarius scobinaceus Malençon et Bertault, Hemimycena candida (Bres.) Singer, Hygrocybe ortoniana Bon, Macrolepiota subsquarrosa (Locq.) Bon and Psilocybe inquilina (Fr. : Fr. ) Bres.
