Abstract

This paper presents two interesting and little known findings. The first one, Russula nympharum F. Hampe & Marxm., had not yet been published as a citation neither in Catalonia nor in the geographical area of Iberian Peninsula, although a collection from the Balearic Islands in 2011 was already designated in 2016 as the holotype of this species. The second one, Russula recondita Melera & Ostellari, is cited for the first time in Catalonia and, probably, also in the Iberian Peninsula. The specimens were collected under Quercus pubescens in the Alta Ribagorça region (Lleida, Catalonia). The two species are described and illustrated with original macrophotographs and images of the most important microscopic features obtained at the OM. The sequences obtained from the ITS noncoding region of DNA show a high degree of coincidence with the GenBank records of these species.
