Abstract

The presence of Pseudopyrenidium tartaricola is mentioned in the Pyrenees, specifically in the province of Huesca (Spain). Ps. tartaricola is a lichenicolous fungus with predominantly arctic-boreal distribution, which grows on different terricolous or muscicolous species of Ochrolechia. The provided record is the first mention for Spanish mycoflora, and corresponds to the southernmost European locality known for this fungus. This floristic note is complemented with original iconography of the habit and ascòspores.
