¿Qué enseñar en secundaria sobre la tabla periódica? Authors Antonio Joaquín Franco-Mariscal José María Oliva-Martínez Abstract The results of research about which contents of the periodic table topic can be taught in secondary education are analyzed. Data collection was conducted through an enquiry to some experts and researchers in science education through written questionnaires and semi-structured individual interviews. The lesson had to include specific con· tents: physical properties of elements and chemical properties of the compounds; regularity, order and periodicity; interpretation of the periodic table in terms of atomic structure; presence of elements in daily life; historical review of the classification of the elements, and finally the nature of science. Different proposals for sequencing these contents as well as some educational implications are also presented.
