Abstract The Escolania de Lluc, which dates back to the early 16th century and one of the oldest in Europe, has had as main task, although not exclusive, the musical training of its acolytes, known in Mallorca as «blauets» because of the colour of their clothing. The photographic archive of the Escolania, both for its scope and for the uniqueness of the institution itself, represents one of the most interesting photographic collections found in Mallorca. In this paper we present a first approach to this archive, which has a special value from the point of view of heritage and teaching of history.KEY WORDS: Photography, education, music education, music history, music associations, Escolania de Lluc.
