Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present in detail the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker models with cosmological constant (in the framework of general relativity) to explain the accelerated expansion of the universe. We put special emphasis on the procedures to calculate the different theoretical parameters of the models from observations of supernovae of type Ia.
