Abstract

Topological Data Analysis (TDA) has been increasingly trending in the last ten years. Here we present an introduction based on basic concepts and definitions that allow us to describe the main tools in this recent field where greater importance is given to shape rather than to the metrics. We will see 200 what persistent homology consists of and how it can be applied in a wide range of scientific fields, such as neuroscience, image recognition and genetics.
