El Declivi de les notícies, incloses les científiques Authors Vladimir de Semir Abstract The world of news is changing rapidly with the appearance of free urban press and, above all, with the gradual generalisation of the Internet as a means of access to the information. In this situation, scientific journalism faces serious difficulties in preventing its content from becoming banal due to the lack of contextualisation and an increasing trivialization of newsworthy facts, which are becoming a mere consumer product. The big publishing groups have trouble facing this sea of changes in the traditional diffusion of news by the press, radio and television. The Internet makes it possible to by-pass conventional journalism, which tends to become a content supplier, while the public becomes a mere consumer and must develop its own discernment and critical skills in order to access to a high-quality and independent information.
