La Divulgació científica en català a l'Alguer del segle XIX Authors Josep M. Casasús i Guri Abstract In this article, the author revises the scientific popularisation in Catalan language in Alghero (a city in the island of Sardinia), in the last two centuries. In spite of the scarce production on this subject, it looks over the magazine La Sardenya Catalana (1908), a first press experience in Catalan language where certain goals of scientific popularisation appeared. The paper also penetrates in later assignments of scientific popularisation contemporary in Alghero, specially focuses on different aspects of botany and ornithology. These results are a part of the research project «La periodística científica als Països Catalans » of the Philosophy & Social Sciences Section of the Institut dEstudis Catalans.
