Abstract

This text presents woman’s body as the form and identity of beauty. The beauty of the body does come from decoration, but it lies in the “appearance” and “presence” of women. The “appearance” of the feminine body is linked to omnipotence, because it allows the “appearance” of another life, the circle of life, the continuity of being. And the “presence” of beauty, source of admiration, constructs the otherness which relates the woman to the one who looks at her, the admirer. Therefore, the author atributes an almost mystical dimension to the beauty of woman’s body, which is the constructor of a symbolic order that can only be feminine.
