Jeanne Hersch and the fête as a work of art Authors Rosa Rius Gatell Universitat de Barcelona Keywords: Jeanne Hersch, philosophy, fête, art, time Abstract This article reflects on the meaning that Jeanne Hersch gives to fêtes and to the value of celebrating them, as an element that favours an order in which everybody develops its function and finds its own place. Since Hersch conceives the fête as “a work of art whose matter is a limited fragment of time”, particular attention has been devoted to the aesthetic perspective of this thinker.
