Abstract

This paper presents the narratives than run through the American TV series Crime Scene Investigation and locates the role of the dead body in that text. In a distinctive rewriting of the forensic tradition, dead bodies form a readable text destined to those people who possess a particular knowledge and who can contribute to unveil truth, restore order and, in a panoptical mode, dissuade possible offenders and promise justice for the victims.
