[Feminism of th XXIst Century] Authors Beatriz Suárez Briones Universidade de Vigo Keywords: women, feminism, violence, desire, gender, cyberfeminism, queer Abstract This text values the current situation of women and gender relations; society adopts certain rules ofr behavior which make up a homogenization of identities, the cause of the exclusion of differences. Likewise, it reflects on patterns of violence against women in war conflicts. Women are not only victim of war but they do not have the right to contribute to the construction of peace negotiated by men. Taking J. Butler’s theories as a starting pint, the author describes sexuality and gender as ritualized gestures and attitudes. Finally, she reflects on the place feminism occupies in the new technologies, “cyberfeminism”, and values the queer movement as refreshing and necessary.
