Abstract

This essay defines a “new” kind of criticism called “Criticism as sabotage” and its necessity in the context of postglobalization and its presupositions. In order to do so, it introduces a definition of textuality as an actual performative force that modifies the receiver’s conception of the world and drives him/her to accomplish acts and discourses. This essay also illustrates “criticism as sabotage” through brief examples belonging to different semiotic registers.
