Simulacions de Montecarlo del transport de la radiació per a aplicacions en medicina i protecció radiològica Authors Ramon Casanovas Maria Cros Marçal Salvadó Abstract L'aplicació dels principis bàsics de protecció radiològica (PR) implica disposar d'una quantificació realista dels paràmetres físics relacionats amb l'exposició a les radiacions ionitzants. Aquest fet requereix el plantejament i la resolució de sistemes físics força complexos que reprodueixin el transport de la radiació en la matèria. Habitualment, aquest problema s'aborda mitjançant simulacions basades en el mètode de Montecarlo (MC), que permeten simular i reproduir els processos físics involucrats en el transport de la radiació en la matèria mitjançant computadors. En aquest treball es presenten diverses aplicacions d'aquest mètode utilitzades en dues línies d'investigació diferents: el radiodiagnòstic mèdic i la PR ambiental entorn de centrals nuclears. D'una banda, en la primera part, es presenta la utilització de simulacions de MC per calcular les dosis que reben els pacients sotmesos a diferents tipus d'exploracions mitjançant escàners de tomografi a computada. D'altra banda, la segona part tracta sobre l'ús de tècniques de MC per al disseny i calibratge de diferents tipus d'equips de mesura de la radioactivitat ambiental mitjançant espectrometria gamma.
