Abstract

The existence of the Forum Cesarauguste has been documented since at least the year 1124, but no copies of it have been preserved. The study of royal privileges and other documents from the 12th century cited in this paper shows that the laws of Zaragoza were not compiled in a single book but were rather an aggregation of various texts approved by different legal institutions over the course of that century for use in daily life and at the courts of justice.
