This article discusses two of the most common fears associated with the world of robotics: machines revolt and uncanny valley. On the premise that they are not fears founded on rational evidence, the author tries to establish the ultimate reason for such fears; postulating how robots could symbolise
our doubts about the nature of consciousness.
