Abstract

Persuasion and dominating: science, advertising and propaganda.
Science had gained great prestige by the end of the 19th century, thus becoming a resource for promoting a great variety of products: from medicines and objects for domestic consumption to healthy habits, economic doctrines and political ideologies. The interaction of science with other spheres of society –in this case, advertising and propaganda–, fall within the subject of a study concerning new trends within the history of science, technology and medicine
