The visual resources of Ramon Llull’s Art demostrativa: Page layout and graphic features Authors Albert Soler Llopart Centre de Documentació Ramon Llull, Universitat de Barcelona Keywords: Ramon Llull, page layout, codicology, visual resources Abstract The article analyzes the visual stratagems Llull uses in the second version of his system, the Art demostrativa (ca. 1283), in order to transmit information more effectively. Here we find a display of graphic features which include color coding and page layouts, all boasting extraordinary originality, accentuating what Llull had already introduced in the Ars compendiosa inveniendi veritatem (ca. 1274). The result represents a stage previous to the complete reorganisation of his system in the Ars inventiva veritatis (1290), yet another sign of the conceptual and formal dynamism that is continually evident in Llull’s work.
