In this regard, poetic and literary graffiti, displayed on the walls of cities such as Pompeii and Herculaneum, illustrate how popular culture and the highest literature could coexist in these spaces of written expression. These pages analyze one of these graffiti (CIL IV, 5296), which was discovered in Pompeii by the end of 18th century and which, due to its content and characteristics, has been the subject of various readings and interpretations. Thus, a state of the art is established and the most plausible interpretations are highlighted, and a critical apparatus is also provided where the different editions are collected.
