Una incursió en el rerefons històric de les idees de valència enllaç i estructura química Authors Pere Grapí i Vilumara Abstract For current students nothing is more natural than to interpret in valence terms the laws of chemical combination exemplified by simple inorganic compounds. Similarly, inorganic substances are often used to illustrate the concepts of chemical bond and structure in chemistry textbooks. However, the learning pathway does not reflect the historical approach, because there existed in the field of organic chemistry, rather than in inorganic chemistry, the need to know the inner structure and composition of their compounds. This article is intended to explore those routes that most significantly contributed to the development of the concepts of chemical valence, bond and structure.
