Coordenada de reacció? Authors Claudi Mans i Teixidó Abstract This article analyses the subject of Reaction kinetics in several high school and university textbooks. Some contradictions are detected, mainly related to the concept of energy activation, especially in how it is graphically presentated. It is proposed that the didactics of the topic explicitly include the distinction between the macroscopic level of description, more related to thermodynamics, and the more mechanical atomic and molecular level of description. Other concepts which can produce confusion such as the reaction coordinate and reaction path are also discussed.
