Contribució del llenguatge al procés de modelització del canvi químic Authors Josep Lluís Estanya Viver Mercè Izquierdo i Aymerich Abstract We present the results of research about the modelling process of an experiment (to heat sugar until it becomes carbon). It was made by secondary school students. During the practical work students were encouraged to think about what they do in order to explain what happens. They had to justify changes in a rationale and generalized way, using the most accurate language is possible. The texts the students wrote had to reflect class discussions and the teachers intervention. This way the students understood that heating sugar caused a chemical change and that sugar had «disappeared».
