Investigating the chemical composition on the waters of Llobregat River Authors Clara Moreno Martín Institut Icària de Barcelona Keywords: Chlorides, hardness, organic matter, nitrates, pH, conductivity. Abstract The project is an in-depth analysis on the composition of the waters of Llobregat River, one of the most important rivers in Catalonia, in different points along its course and their treatment process in stretches located next to the delta in order to supply water to the closest towns and return it to the river. The aim of this work is to give a final assessment of the levels of pollution of the river and to understand the functions of the water treatment and purifying plant. The river and the water purification and depuration in Baix Llobregat have been studied. Moreover, experiments have been carried out in the laboratory in order to study each one of the previously selected chemical parameters.keywords: Chlorides, hardness, organic matter, nitrates, pH, conductivity.
