Resum

En aquest article propose explorar les masculinitats contemporànies considerant els homes i les masculinitats com a subjectes de gènere i com a actors fonamentals per a la consecució de societats més igualitàries i democràtiques. Seguint l’empremta dels estudis crítics dels homes i les masculinitats (CSMM), l’article repassa les teoritzacions més significatives en el camp d’estudi de les masculinitats i se centra específicament en la masculinitat hegemònica, les masculinitats híbrides i la masculinitat tòxica, i entén les «noves» masculinitats com a alternatives a aquelles. Finalment, pose aquests conceptes en relació amb els estudis recents del Centre d’Investigacions Sociològiques (CIS) (Percepciones sobre la igualdad entre hombres y mujeres y estereotipos de género) i el Centre d’Estudis d’Opinió de Catalunya (CEO) (Enquesta sobre valors a Catalunya) per explorar què ens diuen les enquestes sobre la relació dels homes amb el feminisme i la igualtat de gènere hui.
