Abstract

We provide some data about alien plants in Catalonia (NE Iberian Peninsula), mainly garden escapes. According known information, 19 taxa are reported for the first time: Aloe framesii, Begonia × semperflorens, Cereus jamacaru, Cleistocactus hyalacanthus, Cleistocactus straussii, Cotoneaster apiculatus, Delosperma cooperi, Helleborus niger, Hylotelephium spectabile, Iris × sambucina, Lampranthus aureus, Narcissus × cyclazetta, Polygala myrtifolia, Ruschia caroli, Scilla luciliae, Tulipa fosteriana, Tulipa gesneriana, Viola tricolor and Vitis × bacoi. Scilla bifolia and Ruschia tumidula must be excluded from the Catalan flora because the previous data correspond to Scilla luciliae and Ruschia caroli. Apparently previous records of Cereus repandus and C. peruvianus are also erroneous and should be assigned to C. jamacaru. Local naturalisation of Opuntia tomentosa is confirmed.
