Abstract

The occidental auso-segàrric territory is a Catalan physiographic territory that has a clear lack of floristic modern researches. This territory does not has a rough relive or a high soil diversity, however its geographical situation makes this area an important intersection of species with very diverse ecology and chorology. In this paper we provide new records for 47 species. Beyond improving the floristic knowledge of this territory we also show some examples of how this terriroy has the role of: connector between north and south population for 18 species (e.g. Astragalus glycyphyllos, Carex digitata or Erysimum incanun subsp. aurigeranum), connector between oriental and occidental population for 7 species (e.g. Astragalus alopecuroides or Serratula nudicaulis), north distribution limit for 5 thermopile species (e.g. Fumaria gallardotti, Medicago doliata) and oriental distribution limit for 4 species that lives in arid sites (e.g. Picris hispanica). In addition we also provide some new records from some rare species in Catalonia with an inconnexe distributional area (e.g. Opopanax chironium, Sinapis alba subsp. mairei); and rare plants in auso-segàrric occidental (e.g. Crepis setosa).
