Abstract

We report the results of studies conducted from 2009 to 2012, carried out with the purpose of improving the available chorological information of conservationally interesting species of vascular flora in the Montseny Natural Park. We sampled 125 taxa, of which 3 constitute new findings in the Montseny area (Aconitum vulparia, Botrychium matricariifolium and Polystichum lonchitis), 7 have been rediscovered, and 13 correspond to new flora in the prospected 10 × 10 UTM squares. Despite the findings, many species have not been located during the fieldwork. In some cases, we attribute this to reduced populations or even its disappearance, which mainly affects those species associated with open areas that have recently suffered a significant reduction of its surface. This phenomenon has been particularly relevant in Turó de lHome massif, specially in Santa Fe valley.
