Abstract Through this article we intend to pay a small tribute to the figure of Jordi Sabater Pi, for all his contributions related, above all, to human evolution and precedents, not only in the strictly field of research, but also in the awareness of natural heritage. Also, for his qualities as a great science communicator. One of his most innovative contributions was the confirmation that culture is not exclusive to humans, thus expanding the concept of «cultural fact», His research has shown that chimpanzees are not only capable of using «sticks» to trap termites, but also transmit their knowledge from generation to generation. Therefore, we must consider him as the main introducer of ethology in our country. Another remarkable aspect that distinguishes him, among many others, is his ability to draw, used as the universal language that allows not only recording, documenting and describing certain elements with great rigor, but also transmitting contents of great complexity, in an intelligible way to society in general, impregnating them with deep feelings of the author himself. Our goal, therefore, is –albeit in broad brushstrokes– to recall some of the most relevant actions of Dr. Jordi Sabater Pi in the field of science and art, which have contributed to advancing knowledge about our origins and promoting the feeling of appreciation for the preservation and conservation of the natural environment, inexorably linked to the emergence and development of our species. We also include some vital episodes that linked us personally, thus strengthening our friendship. Downloads Download data is not yet available.
