Abstract

A new moitessièrid (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Truncatelloidea) present in three springs located in the municipality of Castellar del Vallès is described, based on conchological material obtained through sediment screening: Moitessieria canyellesensis sp. nov. The conchiliological characteristics that differentiate it from the remaining species of the genus Moitessieria Bourguignat, 1864 are detailed, and in particular the closest geographically and conchologically: Moitessieria olleri Altimira, 1960 and Moitessieria punctata Alba et al., 2010.
