New data on the distribution of the tick Hyalomma lusitanicum (Acari, Ixodidae) in Catalonia

Abstract

The results of various samplings carried out between 2023 and 2024 for the detection of the Hyalomma lusitanicum tick in Catalonia are provided. It has been detected in 70 new municipalities in the provinces of Barcelona and Tarragona, which, added to the 31 in which it was detected in 2022, amount to 101. Two records of Hyalomma marginatum in the province of Gerona are also provided.
