Abstract A new species of the genus Trichodesma from Somalia is described. T. verdugoi n. sp. very well differentiated by the pubescence of the upper part of the body and especially by the ventral and lateral conformation of aedeagus, characters that separate it from the seven known species of the African continent. The representation of the habitus of the type specimens, male antennae and aedeagus of known African species are also indicated.
