Abstract

Some specimens of O. Mercadali from seven caves of Alicante and Valencia provinces (Iberian Peninsula) have been examined. All the shells are distinguished by the presence of a wide umbilicus as it was previously stated by Gasull (1969) and Riedel (1972). In which respect to the genital system, the observed variability range of the absolute size, as well as the relative dimensions of the distal organs, has been greater than those describeb by Riedel (1972). Moreover, the «apparent transversal Segmentation» of the penial inner folds has not been observed at all.
