Abstract

This study represents the first contribution for the Catalan fauna, of the Sycophila Walker. (HYM., Eurytomidae) genus referred to the galls of cynipids collected in trees and bushes. A key for de four species is presented. S. Biguttata (Swederus), S. Binotata (Fonsc.) and S. Flavicollis (Walk.) are new species for Catalonia. Sycophila gilva Abdul Ransoul is proposed as a new synonymy of S. Variegata (Curtis). New information about their biology and the intraspecific variability of these detected species are presented.
