Consideracions paleobiològiques sobre la presència de Nassarius turbinellus (Brocchi, 1814) (Gastropoda: Nassariidae) al pliocè català

Abstract

From the especimens of the species Nassarius turbinellus (Brocchi, 1814) picked up at the Pliocene of Papiol (Catalonia), which represent the first location of this species in the Neogene of Catalonia, a comparative morphological study is made in relation to the known specimens from the other places which enable us to evaluate the especies variability. Moreover, some other aspects are also discussed, concerning its geographical distribution, bathymetry and phylogeny related to some theoretical aspects implied in these issues.
