Els Ocells del jaciment arqueològic de La Aldea, Gran Canària

Abstract

Bird remains from the archaeological site of La Aldea, Gran Canaria, are studied in this paper. The former existence of laurel forest in Gran Canaria is revealed by the presence of a least one species of laurel forest pigeon. Larger bird species are well represented in this deposit, in contrast to smaller ones. Deposition of bird remains is associated with human activities.
