Observacions sobre els Balànids "(Crustacea: Cirripedia)" del Pliocè marí de l'Empordà

Abstract

The geographical and geological distribution of the Cirripedia species found in the Pliocene of l'Empordà (Megabalanus tulipiformis (Ellis), Actinobalanus stellaris (Brocchi), Balanus concavus Bronn, B. Crenatus Brug., B. Perforatus Brug., B. Trigonus Darwin and Creusia (W.) phryxa Pajaud) are given. From the paleoecological point of view, these species indicate a water temperature somewhat higher than the present one in the Mediterranean sea.
