Abstract

DEPANA was formed in 1976, with the object of protecting the natural heritage of Catalonia. Throughout the following eight years, activity has been concentrated on three main fields:
1. increasing the level of public knowledge and awareness about the necessary balance between man and his environment.
2. fighting for the establishment of a whole network of protected areas, with the object of preserving all our different environments.
3. working towards an adequate and well-published system of laws, to enable the effective protection of our natural heritage by the State.
