Abstract

This work presents new data on allochthonous flora of Catalonia (north-eastern Iberian Peninsula, Mediterranean region). Apparently, four taxa are first reported from Europe: Agave salmiana subsp. crassispina, Alocasia odora, Aloe officinalis and Nekemias arborea. Thirteen taxa are reported for the first time in Catalonia: Aloe ×insignis, Berberis julianae, Clivia cf. miniata, Cotoneaster integrifolus, Elaeagnus pungens, Hyacinthoides ×massartiana, Juniperus chinensis, Kerria japonica, Lamium galeobdolon subsp. argentatum, Lavandula angustifolia, Lonicera ligustrina, Mauranthemum paludosum and Viburnum ×rhytidophylloides. Also can be considered as novelties for Catalonia the first published data of Cotoneaster salicifolius and one record of Mahonia aquifolium in strict sense. The other data relates to very rare allochthonous plants or to new locations of chorological interest of less uncommon alien species.
