Almost 50% of these patents are focused on product commercialization processes (preparation, packaging and marketing) but around twenty of them have been clearly found to be related to the development of new products or processes. The promoters of these patents required a certain scientific and technical training so it is not surprising to find among them pharmaceuticals, industrial technicians and teachers from different existing schools in Alcoy devoted to industrial training at the historic time considered. This paper attempts to establish the relationship between important figures and institutions emphasizing some of the proposals with a greater technological or industrial interest.Key words: patents, chemistry, industry, technical education, Alcoy Author Biographies Georgina Blanes Nadal, Escola Politècnica Superior d'Alcoi, Universitat Politècnica de Valencia Departament de Física Aplicada, Catedràtica d'Escola Universitaria Carlos Millán Verdú, Escola Politècnica Superior d'Alcoi, Universitat Politècnica de Valencia Departament de Física Aplicada, Profesor Titular d'Universitat.
