Commemorate science and women? Analysis of the speeches about the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, 2016-2022 Authors Mar Rivera Colomer Institut Universitari López Piñero, Universitat d'Alacant DOI: 10.2436/20.2006.01.240 Keywords: commemorative practices, International Day of Women and Girls in Science, women, girls, history of science Abstract This work studied which narratives or characteristics are associated with this commemoration and how they have evolved. For the analysis I have used the history of science and feminist theory as tools to complexify the form and message of the discourses. It is relevant to study this commemoration since it has not been studied yet, and it offers a privileged point of view to learn about the functioning of society, politics, the feminist agenda, and the constructions of the past.
