Unique preduals and free objects in Banach spaces

Abstract

We study when a Banach space has a unique predual, focusing first on holomorphic functions bounded on the unit disk and analyzing Ando's proof. We consider how to extend the result to several variables, where technical difficulties arise. We also discuss different sufficient conditions to guarantee uniqueness and the case of Banach lattices.
