Some improvements to the Erik+2 method for unbalanced partitions Authors Oscar Rivero Salgado Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya Pol Torrent i Soler Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya Keywords: Phylogenetics, Flattening matrix, Erik 2 Method Abstract We aim to improve the Erik+2 method for obtaining the right distributions at the leaves of a phylogenetic tree, by addressing the problems that are due to the lack of enough experimental data when dealing with a high number of species. We introduce a new procedure based on successive applications of the Erik+2 method to take into account the most filled rows and columns of the observed data matrix and on balancing the scores obtained from both rows and columns. We also propose normalizations to compare the scores based on the dimensions of the data matrix. Downloads Download data is not yet available.
