Llegats excessius: apunts a l'article 427-39 del codi civil de Catalunya Authors Lídia Arnau Raventós Abstract This paper comments on Article 427-39 of the Catalan Civil Code, which seeks to protect a person receiving a bequest if its value exceeds that of his acquisition mortis causa. Unless another form of reduction derives from the will, the bequest may be reduced proportionally. Likewise, consideration is given here as to whether the legatee is entitled to claim complete fulfilment by paying an amount equal to the reduction's value.
