Resumen

Darwin’s Domestic Variations: Refl ecting on The Variation of Animals and Plants
Under Domestication. Darwin left a lot of loose ends in The Origin of Species and promised his readers a sequel
with a stronger line of reasoning. Both volumes of The Variation of Animals and Plants Under Domestication give a deluge of data to demonstrate that humans can modify domestic species by selecting from the available variability. To end this work, Darwin puts forward a hypothesis that could
explain the transmission mechanism by which these variations are passed onto descendants.
