Els agrimensors romans, cartògrafs de territoris Autores/as Gerard Chouquer Resumen Roman “agrimensores” or field measurers are responsible for the division of a great many lands, which had previously remained uncharted. The Roman Empire, in its continuous expansion, needed cartographers to draw up the new territories, thus enabling the new lands to be governed. This is the reason why between the 4th and1th Century BC we find this activity in its golden era. In this article the author revise the functions and characteristics of these Roman surveyors.
