L'Univers amb nous ulls. L'observació astronòmica en el visible i infraroig Authors Rafael Rebono Abstract Seeing the Universe through New Eyes. Visible and Infrared Astronomical Observation. The next decade will witness the construction of a new generation of much larger ground and space telescopes: the so-called Extremely Large Telescopes with diameters exceeding 30 m and the 6.5 m James Webb Space Telescope. These will constitute the main devices for optical and infrared astronomy in the near future. These telescopes will feed the most sophisticated set of instruments astronomers have ever built, incorporating state-of-the-art optical components and detectors. These awe-inspiring telescopes and instruments are technically challenging but necessary to satisfy our quest for greater knowledge of the Universe.
