Heat from Cold Stars. How Stars Became Major Players in the Universe.
Although they are ever present in the night sky, stars did not attract the attention of scientific astronomy until the late eighteenth century. The exploration of deep space, studies of the behavior of the Sun and spectroscopic analysis were the gateways to a new astronomy, conceived as the Science of the Stars.
