Abstract

The paper offers a panoramic and synthetic view of the liturgical change in the different kingdoms of the Iberian Peninsula between the 9th and the 12th centuries. It studies in cronological order the changing of the rite in the Narbonese, in the carolingian Catalonia, in Aragon, in Navarrea and in Castile and Leon. The problematics of the transition unto the romano-frankish rite is focused in three aspects: the political and ecclesiastical factors that led to the change, the progressive suppression of the Hispanic rite, and the different ways in which it subsisted.
